If you are an unsigned senior volleyball player, competing at the SCVA Las Vegas Invitational Tournament in February, you need to register for the PrepVolleyball Unsigned Senior Showcase as soon as possible. Throughout my years of experience as a college volleyball recruiting expert, I have seen athletes make the mistake of not attending this showcase. Unfortunately, it sends a mixed message to the college coaches who are recruiting you. If you want to play volleyball in college, you need to make sure you attend this event!
A year ago, a senior I was working with decided she didn’t want to attend the showcase. She felt confident going into the tournament since she was being actively recruited by multiple programs. However, when she missed this event, I had 3 college coaches call me that night inquiring why she didn’t participate. They got the impression that because she didn’t participate in the event, she must not be interested in playing in college. Regardless of the team you are on, the exposure you are receiving, and how many programs are actively recruiting you, do not assume you can afford to miss the showcase.
To prepare for the upcoming showcase, you need to create a game plan for success. I would suggest creating a prospective list of college programs for you to contact, and sharing some recent video footage of your team.
