A letter to prospective My Recruiting Solutions Students and Families from the Dunn Family.

As a business owner, there is nothing more satisfying than receiving positive feedback from clients.  Rebecca Dunn committed to the USC Sand Program.  Her mother Rachel Dunn, wrote this letter to future parents and players about what you will be expected to face throughout your journey with My Recruiting Solutions.

Dear Prospective My Recruiting Solutions (MRS) Students and Families,

My name is Rachel Dunn. In September 2012 we began working with Kara Hill. Our daughter, Becca Dunn was just beginning her sophomore year at San Clemente High School. Becca is a volleyball player who wants to play in college.

After meeting with MRS we decided to sign up for their services. I must say that I was a little nervous about spending the money, as we all know how much it costs just to have your kids in club sports. After careful consideration we decided to work with MRS.

Let me start by saying that this was the best money I have ever spent. Kara and her staff began fulfilling their obligations to us right away. Kara taught us how to go about contacting colleges and coaches through email to show our daughters interest in these schools. It was a process that we as parents had to learn so that we could help Becca maintain her motivation, and to encourage these coaches to come watch her play.

Becca has been on top teams for Laguna Beach Volleyball Club for several years, and yes some kids do get recruited without ever initially contacting coaches or universities, but this is not the case for most student athletes. So what MRS did for our family was invaluable to Becca and her future.

We pretty much knew that Becca could find a school that wanted her to play for them, but what we weren’t sure she would find a program that was a “perfect fit.” This being said, there are a lot of factors to consider: D-1, D-2, big school, small school, academics, football program, etc. Then you must consider East Coast, West Coast or other. For us, the Pac 12 did not look promising for Becca’s position since she is only 5’-10” and these school tend to have much taller girls up a the net.

As the year progressed Becca became more comfortable sending and receiving emails and even calling coaches, which can be extremely intimidating. With Kara’s encouragement Becca was able to follow through with her instructions. MRS does assist you and your family but the bottom line is, the athlete is ultimately responsible his or her goals.

As I said earlier, we as parents truly believe that Kara Hill and John Gaido, as well as Kara’s husband Marty, were always going beyond what we expected. In early 2013 Becca was already getting some serious interest from several universities from different parts of the Country. As a family, we decided it would be best if Becca could stay in California, even though we knew that this is an extremely competitive state to play volleyball.

In the spring of 2013 Becca, switched gears and began getting serious about playing sand volleyball. Again, Kara suggested this as she really gets to know each player and their families. Kara knew Becca was pretty good in the sand, so she recommended that she try out for the USA High Performance Beach Volleyball program. To our surprise, Becca was selected for the A1 U17 team. Once again, because of Kara’s positive guidance and Becca’s tenacity, she began getting noticed by several schools for their sand programs.

Approximately one year after signing up with Kara and MRS, Becca was offered a scholarship to the University of Southern California to play for Anna Collier on her sand team. Becca has verbally committed to play for USC Sand Volleyball.  Our family wants to thank Kara Hill, John Gaido and Marty Hill for their time spent with us, as well as all of the filming they did both indoor and on the beach. We highly recommend MRS’s services to any prospective athlete that wants to play their sport at the college level.

Kara Hill has demonstrated the highest integrity and she really understands her business. She has developed incredible connections with coaches and their programs from all over the Country. She is professional but personable; we could not have been more pleased with all that My Recruiting Solutions did for Becca and our family.

Good luck and best wishes,

Brian, Rachel and Becca Dunn
