Recently Jay Harris, an incoming freshman to Michigan State University, had his scholarship pulled for releasing an explicit rap video on YouTube.
I often share with athletes the power of social media during my Recruiting Workshops. There are serious consequences for your actions and it’s imperative you think about your future PRIOR to posting anything explicit online. This is one of the biggest recruiting mistakes athletes can make, and unfortunately for Harris he is learning firsthand that his actions have cost him an education worth over $170,000!
The video, “DatBull 4 Life,” begins with Harris lighting a joint and contains very explicit lyrics. To see the video click here, but be warned there is strong language and explicit lyrics.
