I have been receiving many questions regarding upcoming club tryouts in Southern California. There are a ton of changes this season, and there seems to be a lot of confusion about how everything will play out. Club tryouts for the older girls in Los Angeles and in Orange County are in August. This means you need to be getting as many club work outs in as you can to show your interest to the club. The sport is growing, as are the clubs in the area, but you need to clearly communicate with the coaches and club directors about where you stand. This is increasingly important as so many athletes will be traveling to various high school tournaments around the country. If you had a successful season last year with your club and you are happy, don’t try to fix what is not broken. It’s not worth it! The grass is not always greener on the other side. The bottom line is that relationships will be key this season to making a commitment to a club team.
If you are planning to play both indoor and beach, it is best you communicate this early. If you can have a game plan in place for any conflicts, this would be best. Playing both is not easy but it can be done. Prior to making a decision, you need to share your interest in playing both so the indoor coaches, and your teammates are not caught off guard.
If you have questions about recruiting, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. My number is (714) 323-8088. You may also reach me by email at Kara@myrecruitingsolutions.com. This is a very stressful time of season for all of us. Good luck!
