Recruiting Tip of the Day – YouTube College Search

Kara Hill’s Recruiting Tip of the Day: YouTube is an invaluable tool that you can use throughout the recruiting process.  Not only can you post your videos to share with college coaches, you can also search for the colleges who are interested in you to get an idea of what the campus, athletic team and life is like.  I highly recommend you research as much as you can about the colleges who are recruiting you.  Visiting is extremely expensive, especially if you are traveling across the country.  By looking at the campus tour video on YouTube, you can see the flow of how large it is and get an idea of the community.  There are also interviews of professors, students in various departments, and why students chose the college.

Many college programs also have videos of their teams competing posted on YouTube.  You can evaluate what the talent is like and compare yourself to the athletes currently competing for playing time on the team.  Some college coaches even post coaching tips on drills they use in practice.  This can give you an idea of what a practice might be like playing for that coach.
