Preparing for the Team Wave & Tamarack Beach Volleyball College Showcase!
The Team Wave & Tamarack Beach Volleyball Showcase is around the corner! I am so excited for the athletes who have the opportunity to participate, and I am so grateful for the clubs who have organized the event! I wanted to share some key tips to help you stand out from the competition and make the most out of your experience!
Recruiting Tips:
- Email all of the programs who are participating, and include video footage! Video is a key part of attracting attention, so put together a highlight reel to share. Do you have raw video, but not a highlight reel? Call me as soon as possible, and my editing team can put one together for you within 24 hours for $250. It’s critical that the coaches have video on you prior to the event.
- Have a Twitter account? If not, register for a Twitter account today, and follow all of the college coaches who are coming to the event. You can Tweet your results throughout the day, and thank the coaches who watched you play! Also include the hashtag, #GBNV. Tweet your video link from YouTube as well!
- If you receive a response from a college coach attending the event, do your best to reach the coach over the phone! This is an awesome opportunity to get to know the coach and the program, prior to the showcase! Put yourself in the college coaches shoes, if you were coming to evaluate athletes at a showcase, who would you go to first? Is this all starting to make sense?
- Wear a colorful headband! Something to help you stand out!
- Film, film, film and more film! I would highly recommend you get film footage and email the highlight reel to the coaches after the event. You can also email the coaches who were unable to attend.
