Interested in Playing College Volleyball in Southern California?

Many of the student athletes I come across in SoCal are interested in trying to play college volleyball in their home town.  Although there are many opportunities for SoCal players in the northeast and in the south, playing near home offers a lot of benefits.  If you take a look at all the summer camps, it can be a daunting process to try and schedule which camp to attend.  Not only is it difficult to attend more than 1 or 2, it’s also quite expensive.

On June 26th, Eric Sato is directing a College Skills Clinic for the Southern California Volleyball Association at the Anaheim Convention Center.  This event is open to high school students graduating in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.  This is a great opportunity for your student athlete to actually work these college programs, and get a feel for their coaching style.  There are 15 college volleyball programs committed to working the event!

This unique skills clinic has limited enrollment.  When the clinic is full, registration will close.  The college coaches are on the court for the entire clinic and are running a court as they would at their own practices.  Evaluations will be available to student athletes to get a better idea of where they are athletically.

In addition, an intensive college recruiting workshop will be hosted by college volleyball recruiting expert Kara Hill.  This workshop will cover the following topics:

  • How to avoid the biggest recruiting mistakes
  • How to make contact with college coaches
  • How to build a prospective list of college programs
  • Creating S.M.A.R.T. goals
  • The importance of following up with college coaches
  • Preparing for unofficial and official visits
  • Making a decision
