Did you know that by becoming a Side-Out Ambassador you can earn money towards your college education as well as community service hours? There is a common misconception among students and parents that scholarship money is only for “A” students. The Side Out Ambassador Program or SOAP was launched in 2011 to recognize student athletes who planned a “Dig Pink” event at their school or within their community for breast cancer awareness. Of course there are a few additional application requirements to receive one of these generous scholarships! However, this a great opportunity to log several community service hours as well as raise awareness for a great cause! The Side-Out Foundation offers 19 scholarships worth a total of $20,000!
The SOAP awards were established in memory of Gloria Dunetz, who is also the inspiration behind the Side-Out Foundation. For more information on how you can host a “Dig Pink” event at your volleyball club or school click here.
