How much video do I send to college coaches?

Recruiting Tip: How much video do I sent to college coaches?

Families who are going through the recruiting process frequently ask how often and how much video they should send to college coaches. Early on, it’s important to share highlight reels 2-4 minutes in length to coaches on a monthly basis. High school aged athletes tend to show measurable improvement during this time.

Typically, a student athlete who is working with me will send me their schedule for the club season, and I will create a schedule for follow up. I am a strong believer that consistent communication about where you are in the process, video to show you are developing, and what you are looking for in your college experience are crucial to stand out from the competition. Building a relationship with your potential college coach is important because you need to have a clear understanding of what their expectations are of you. How does this coach run their program? Is it a fit?

By showing your progress over time, you are accomplishing two things: 1. You are a showing the coach you are a dedicated student athlete determined to play at the next level. 2. You are a great communicator who is able to build a relationship with the coach.

I have included a highlight reel below to show an example of what coaches are seeking. For guidance, and video editing services, email Kara@myrecruitingsolutions.com to schedule a free consultation.
