Recruiting Tips from My Recruiting Solutions Alumni!

Recruiting Tips from #myrecruitingsolutionsalumni!

Recently, I posted a #collegevolleyballrecruiting tip on the importance of highlight videos, and received a tip from Candia Shaffer. Her daughter Lauren Shaffer committed to Smith College and is having the time of her life!  As Lauren had narrowed her list of college programs, she wanted to change it up and send something a little different. She sent an email to the coaches with the title “Tired of watching volleyball videos?” In her message she said I thought you may enjoy a change of pace, and included a video link.  The highlight included Lauren and her friend on an inflatable being towed behind their boat when suddenly there is a great wipeout. Every single coach responded how much they enjoyed the 1 minute clip.

I can’t stress the importance of building relationships with college coaches, and what a great way to share more of your life and a bit of your personality. There are definitely ways to stand out from the competition, and I love this tip from the Shaffer family. One of the things I love best about my job, is following these athletes through their college careers and keeping in touch with the families. It’s so exciting to be a part of helping an athlete find their “dream school.”

If you are seeking personal guidance through the recruiting process, email Kara@myrecruitingsolutions.com to schedule a free consultation. I will work closely with your family through the process to ensure your athlete finds their “perfect fit.”  I’ve had the pleasure of helping over 100 student athletes find their dream schools.
