Where do you get your motivation to play your sport? Most student athletes enjoy competing and want to continue to excel, but I love to hear what inspires my clients who sacrifice so much to play club sports and manage their high school classes. I’m always amazed at the student athletes who are taking multiple AP classes, and maintain a high GPA while training hard and traveling! I love the dedication these athletes have toward their education and sport. It’s so awesome for me to help these kids navigate through the recruiting process and achieve their ultimate goals, to earn an athletic or academic scholarship to play at their “dream school.”
The Summer Olympics have begun. I hope you are following online or watching on T.V. Some of these athletes have inspirational stories and it provides a renewable energy to everything I do. I wonder if it will provide you the motivation you need to dig deep for another season, especially for those who didn’t have a good season. The recruiting process can be a tedious and overwhelming roller coaster of emotions. Listening to how others overcome their struggles can provide a refreshing new outlook to competing and this process. I encourage you to follow the Olympics in London, listen to the athletes stories, and embrace their success!
